Premier Breed Specific Tasks

There are eight approved Breed Specific Tasks for the Black Russian Terrier Premier:

Protection, Loyalty, Agility, Control, Dexterity, Alacrity, Obedience, Weight Pull

Please use only the approved gear (see below) for the BST tasks. And remember to choose only one of these tasks to merge with the pose. And PS, have fun!

Protection*

BRTs were bred to be manstoppers, requiring them to be fearless and courageous. Therefore, it is natural that this should be a task for the premier. Protection will be represented by your Blackie attacking a decoy. You may use either the origianal red tug toy or Supernova's bite sleeve. With some creative angles you can really get the aggressive look across, bonus points will be awarded for this.
Harness/collar and lead, red tug or bite sleeve/tug may be used for this task.

Loyalty

BRTs are also bred to be fiercly loyal. To portray loyalty, your BRT must be laying at its master's feet, as it were, looking up at you (the camera). The dog should be completely relaxed and calm. Lolloping and panting tongues are great little extras.
Collar may be used for this task.

Agility

BRTs, despite their massive size, are very agile. They have a natural spring in their step, like that of a cat, each stride is light and deliberate charged with energy. This task will be represented by a jump, which may be left or right facing. Free jumping or hoop jumping are both acceptable. The dog may be looking at the camera or in the direction of jumping.
Collar and hoop may be used for this task.

Control

As the owner of a dog of such size, strength, power and intelligence you must have 100% control. Without control a bad situation could turn into a cataclysmic disaster. This task will be represented by a "bark and hold" where the dog stares down the decoy. The dog may be lunging or jumping towards the decoy as long as it does not make contact. Entries where the decoy is touching/overlapping the paws will be faulted. Entries where the decoy is touching/overlapping the head will be DQ'd. The decoy should not be positioned so the dog is looking behind itself at it.
Muzzle, harness/collar and/or lead, red tug, bite sleeve/tug may be used for this task.

Dexterity*

Physical ability is nothing without the mental skill to put it to use. For this task your BRT will be catching the frisbee or bite sleeve. May be left or right facing, either looking at the camera or in direction of jump. A full profile catch is preferable.
Collar and frisbe or bite sleeve may be used for this task.

Alacrity

The readiness and willingness to please is another strong trait in the BRT. They are only happy when making you happy. This task will be represented by the dog standing or walking on its hind legs. The dog must be looking to the camera, happy and expectant. May be in profile pointed to the left or right, or straight on to the camera.
Collar may be used for this task.

Obedience*

Another display of control, a BRT should know how to go to its "place" and not be tempted by distractions. This task will be represented by the dog performing a sit or down stay in the presence of another dog. The other dog must not be another BRT.
Collar may be used for this task.

Weight Pull

This is just a fun sport and excellent display of strength. The hind feet should be planted firmly on the ground with the hind legs at full extension, head should be low and the shoulders high. This pic should convey power and strength with the dog at it's strongest pull. This task may be accomplished using the somersault trick.
Sled harness may be used for this task.
* These tasks are shared by the Working Group Premier and so may be entered in both shows. Keep in mind, though, that the Working Group Premier does not allow collars, harness, or leads for these tasks.
